Smoothies are great too but I have a preference for things made of fruit and not some kind of chemistry lab syrup. I saw this sign from across the street, crossed two roads to get to it and stood in a queue for 10 minutes.
I'd just been to Barclays and at the cashier was a sign on a plastic cup saying "If I don't mention personal loans from Barclays please take a coin." He didn't (mention personal loans) and I did (take a coin.) I'd noticed that there were some 50p's in there but felt a little uncomfortable tipping them all out on the counter in order to get one - kind of like emptying the box of Quality Streets to get the last strawberry one (or purple one if you're that way inclined.) Anyway, I snagged 20p which made me feel better about standing in line for 10 minutes while the guy in front of me insisted on being paid in specific notes and asking to see the balance on all his accounts.
In the smoothie shop I was delighted to find that the 20p gave me just enough change for a smoothie. You can imagine how disappointed I was to find that the machine was broken.
I left the shop and it started raining, then I tripped on a raised paving stone and stubbed my toe. As I fell I dropped my iPhone which cracked the glass. At the gig later on my snare drum head split in the middle of a song and I had to get a friend in the audience to come on stage and pass me a spare which I switched out in the guitar solo.
Just another day in the life of a touring drummer.
The bit about rain and toes and iPhones wasn't true. I just went across the road and had a fry up with Andy. The snare drum did break though.
