Hi Ya'll,
Just wanted to say that it's the last tour date and I for one am really sad. (Tired too) It's been wonderful, truly. We had a very productive band meeting yesterday and everyone feels the same. We are definitely on a roll at the moment. We'll be pulling some new irons out of the fire for 2008. More later.
I also wanted to say that I feel bad for not answering the deluge of questions posted on the forum in the Ask Wishbone section. This will happen during the break and yes, I will kick Skeaty and Muddy's butts about posting more. Basicly I think they are shy, but they do have all kinds of warm cosy feelings about touring, that's for sure. There has not even been time to do a proper AshCon Wrap as is usually customary from yours truly but we all know what an amazing event this was and has become, especially in the new Winding Wheel theatre venue (thanks Guy and Dave et al).
O.K. it's time to drive to Dublin for the final show. Last nights gig in Belfast was really top hole, I thought. The crowd brought back memories of our 70's gigs. They were full of passion and bought the best out in the band. After all, a gig is a communal experience. This we know. It was like playing to the heathen horde (No offence) all over again - righteous! Oh yes, and some beautiful ladies in the crowd. So many more young folk coming along to the shows. This is rewarding, to see how our music is striking a chord with this group as well as with the diehards. Some of the songs like Throw Down The Sword and Phoenix had a special resonance for me on stage last night with these people after The Troubles and so on. It's amazing to see the changes here in the North - so much new growth and there is a buzz in the air.
More later - thank you all.
A.P.
