    Improved Recipe

    Improved Recipe
This is my first day home for about 3 weeks. It's nice to get away from Ginsters and KFC. Today I decided I'd have some tongue for lunch. That actually sounds quite gross. It seems that most meat products are named in such a way that kids will eat them. You say 'eat your beef' not 'eat your baby cow', and 'have some bacon' rather than 'have some pig's arse'

I suppose lamb is an exception. The marketing board for tongue obviously thought that the name was fine. I love the stuff anyway.

I was slightly bemused by the green sticker informing me that it was an improved recipe. I figured the recipe was: 1 tongue - thinly sliced

Seems a little bit like when you buy a bag of cashew nuts that carries the warning "may contain nuts or traces of nuts." Well I'd hope that was the case at £2.50 a bag. On that note I don't think I'd buy "nuts" from the meat counter.
