Room 403 and 402 were twins - but not identical. Room 402 was the mirror image of 403. The bed was against the opposite wall, the bathroom was on the opposite side, everything was the exact opposite. Even though I'd only spent a few minutes in 403 I found it confusing being in this mirror world. The full extent of the oppositeness (wow, that word is actually in the dictionary!) was not revealed until the next morning.
The shower (oh yes - it's another shower story) was one of those with an adjustable head. You could change the style of water dispensation (that one is too!) with a small twist of the shower head. However, I was in room 403 - the oppositer (that one isn't) to room 402.
In 402 the shower worked fine and the tap had low water pressure. In room 403 the opposite was true...the tap worked fine and the shower had......... SUPER water pressure (or SWP if you prefer). No matter how much I turned the shower head it remained in laser beam mode - you know, the single stick of water designed to drill holes in sheets of metal. I was lathered head to toe before I realised that more gentle water descent was not an option and the only way to wash off the soap involved the removal of the 3 layers of skin underneath!
I didn't ask for a refund. I decided to keep the scars for one of those Jaws injury competitions. When someone shows me their stump where a shark bit off their leg I can reveal that I have no skin because of a dodgy shower in a German Hotel.
