    Backstage at Lovely Days

I do hope everyone is having a great summer. We spent the last week in Lancashire, England, rehearsing new/old songs for upcoming shows. Wonderful British countryside up there but actually it was cool weather; no let’s say cold, rainy and windy at times. In fact perfect weather for getting into work mode.

Right now, I am backstage in an old railway carriage, at the strangely named Lovely Days Festival in Wiesen, Austria . The Water Boys are playing and very fine they sound too. I’m hanging on for Neil Young who hits the stage around 9.30 p.m. Earlier played a 1 hour set and I ‘m pleased to say we got a great reception. Wishbone Ash played this permanent festival site, a couple of years ago with Keith Emerson and Nazareth and it’s a totally pro set-up. Mind you, it should be since they’ve been running this festival for 40 years.

Next week we play in Hartenholm, near Hamburg, at an outside show with Fury and the Slaughterhouse. It’s good to be in Europe in August since in Connecticut it can really get hot and humid and it gives me the opportunity to avoid the dog days of summer up there.

I spoke to Guy Roberts the other day and things are coming together nicely for this year’s AshCon in the U.K. but of course prior to that, we get a serious dose of Florida sunshine at the USA fan convention, AshFest in Port St. Lucie.

It’s actually quite difficult to concentrate on this blog with the wonderful music going on here so we’ll see y’all very soon.
