Just went for lunch at Wilton's literal tea and coffee lounge. It was a slightly strange experience. We decided to eat there after I spotted banana split on the menu. We ate our main course then asked for the dessert menu. The girl came out and put 2 blue post-it notes in front of me and my sister. My first thought was that it was some weird hand written note thanking us for eating there. It turned out to be the dessert menu. I don't know why they didn't bring out the one that we ordered the rest of the food from. It appeared to consist mainly of the same stuff. The one thing I noticed was missing was the banana split!
I asked her if they could do me a banana split. She disappeared off into the kitchen and returned triumphantly announcing that they could. Two minutes later the girl returned and asked -
"would you like ice-cream with your banana split?"
"No, I'll just have 2 halves of a banana" - I replied.
My sister was giggling and I think the waitress was confused so I added "on second thoughts a bit of ice-cream might make it more interesting"
That's it really. It was funny at the time. Maybe you had to be there.
