My NYE gig!

I thought for a moment that I might have New Year's Eve off this year. It wasn't to be. A week and a half before NYE I was asked by a friend whether I could step in and help him out as one of his band had pulled out last minute (well, last week and a half). I agreed.

Can you spot me? Not on drums this time - on keyboards! And I don't even play keyboards. I just had to stand at the back and pretend I could. It was the most fun I've had on a gig for a long time. At first I was trying to look like I was playing all the right notes but by the end of the night I was spinning around between chords or playing the cymbals with one drumstick while reaching over to cover my keyboard lines with the other. Maybe next year I'll be on didgeridoo.
