    Big Deal!

This photo is us with our friend Panos at Big Deal music store in Leeds U.K. I promised her I'd post it.

Well - the USA in December. That was a tour – it really was. Strange how time both contracts and expands when you are on the road. It’s like altered states, or something. The last show proved to be the supreme test for some, with the weather delivering a very interesting mixed bag of tricks depending if you were driving north to Sellersville (ice storm) or coming down from New England where they had a big snow dump. Then, the next morning, making our way to Philadelphia International Airport, for those flying to Europe, we had a good old peasouper - major fog, accompanied by an icy penetrating cold..

The actual last show was very good, I felt. As others have pointed out, the sound at the Sellersville Theater was excellent, thanks in no small part to Daniel Vetter’s fine attention. Many of you will remember the mysterious Argus warrior from the U.K. AshCon – well, he turned up here – what is going on? By the way, we all got a serious history lesson from the venue’s manager about how the Liberty Bell, was kept in secret at the Washington House Inn, next to the theater, where we actually dined that night. The meal was exceptional and the wine, compliments of the theater (US spelling), was superb.

I’d like to say a big thankyou to all the folks who cheered us on our way, helping with the loan of equipment due to breakages and so on. Milt and Fred thanks a million. Steve Koontz - you are outta control. A special word to our Johnson City promoter and good friend, Mike Allen; We are here for you and anything we can do to help, we will surely try in this your supreme test. Loyal fan, Cincinatti Wally put the right focus on your situation with his quote from the Bible which he posted in the forum. Hang tough, good buddy. A special prayer this Christmas for Marg from Gloucester, U.K. who we know is also going through her own personal crisis...and Joanie - it's no fun being in hospital when you could be rockin' at a Wishbone show.

Back in CT the weather is indeed icy, snowy and cold but the landscape is beautiful. The final trial was getting the whole rig stuck sideways on my very steep driveway. After about an hour we managed to extricate ourselves and park elsewhere for the night. Think of me, sanding, scraping and laying salt down to clear everything tomorrow. The driveway really is a long steep one - did I say that already?…..I can then get all the gear into storage ready for the next U.S. tour in the spring, when the weather should be an altogether different story. California here we come! In the meantime thank you all for a great little tour - Peace, Love and Happiness for these Christmas Holidays.
