The lunchtime destination was a certain pub called the Boat. You park and then walk across this funky old bridge and you find this place which is the real deal. At last, a real pub serving great bitter and pub grub with a view overlooking the Wye and a coupla dogs mooching around, checking everyone out.
All this put us in a good frame of mind for a hard rocking set at the Bridgend Recreational Centre. I believe it's been a couple of years since the last time we played there and the crowd was as good as ever. What more could you ask for? A great audience, a good journey and a great gig - that's rock and roll. Wonderful to see Kev and Lyn Chilcott and receive my newly repaired burgundy V back from them. I broke a string during the set, strangely, but the neck held just fine. The new Angel pick-ups sounded sweet.
