    Breakfast in America

However, Cracker Barrel restaurants get the thumbs up from all of us. They have a mild Christian vibe, wholesome ersatz country style with a huge log - burning fireplace in the main restaurant (they are all identical) but man, can you get a serious breakfast there! This morning I had steak (8 oz), and eggs over easy (3), hash brown casserole, English muffin, short stack of country pancakes, slathered in real maple syrup and cooked apples, the bottomless cup of coffee and orange juice all for around $12 or £6 …beat that Little Chef.

It’s been great to meet up with the usual suspects; John , Steve, Ramona, Gregg, Leon, Jen, Scott, Marcus – you know who you are. You’re amazing and cheer us on our way. (Joanie – get well soon. We’ll be thinking of you). Today, we are heading for St. Louis and we have no show so we may go visit a truck stop just to ‘keep it real.’ No, it’s looking like we may actually have 3 nights in the same hotel – bliss. The band all says “Hi”. I’m meeting them this morning at Bob Evans Restaurant. Wonder if I can top yesterdays breakfast.
